When Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at Trooping the Color in May, she launched a new piece of jewelry: an eternity ring set with diamonds.
The room, as well as redesigned engagement ring, attracted attention. When she and Prince Harry attended the Red Sox game against the Yankees in London this weekend, people got a closer look at the new ring in all its glory, especially when a beaming Meghan showed off the tiny jersey of the Yankees who was tailor-made for his new son, Archie.
But the diamond band also serves a soft purpose. It would be a push the present of Prince Harry to celebrate Archie’s birth.
Apparently, Prince Harry worked with celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz to create the ultimate post-baby bling. He asked Schwartz, who created jewelry for Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga, to add birthstones to represent Markle, Archie and himself between the diamond pavers.
Peridot, emerald and sapphire stones would be hidden under the bracelet.
‘Meghan was hit,’ a source said Harper’s Bazaar, “a lot of thought went into it.”
While working with Schwartz, who is known for her premier engagement rings, Prince Harry also reportedly upgraded Markle’s original engagement ring as eagle-eyed royal fans realized the stones were set on a much more delicate diamond band. Schwartz and Harry traded in the yellow band for a thinner diamond piece that matches his eternity ring.
