When someone thinks of the jewelry associated with Kate, most often the first piece that comes to mind is Kate’s iconic engagement ring.
Once Princess Diana’s engagement ring from her marriage to Prince Charles, William used it to propose to Kate when they got engaged in 2010.
The centerpiece of the ring is a 12k sapphire surrounded by fourteen diamonds and set in 18k white gold.
According to jewelers, a similar ring would cost you around £ 300,000-400,000 these days, although the history of Kate’s ring means that it would be essentially priceless by now.
It may surprise some to learn that Kate’s engagement ring is actually part of a set, with matching sapphire and diamond earrings.
The earrings were also owned by Princess Diana and William is said to have given them to Kate when they got married in 2011.
The Duchess of Cambridge had the dangling earrings personalized and presented them during the couple’s tour of Canada in 2011.
Another set of earrings given to Kate by William marked a very adorable moment for the pair.
In honor of their first Christmas as a married couple in 2011, William gifted Kate with a set of green amethyst earrings designed by Kiki McDonough.
The amethysts of the earrings are surrounded by diamonds and set in 18k yellow gold.
Kate apparently wore them for the first time the morning she received them, as she made her debut with the earrings on Christmas morning in 2011 on her way to Sandringham’s annual Christmas service attended by the royal family.
Kate is known to be a huge fan of Kiki McDonough jewelry and, according to The Express , has a collection of her jewelry valued at over £ 47,000.
If you look closely at the photos of Kate’s hands, you might notice that she is wearing three, not two, rings on her ring finger.
Of course, her engagement right and Welsh gold wedding ring are easy to identify, but what about the third ring?
The third ring Kate wears is actually an eternity ring donated by Prince William to mark the birth of their eldest son George, 8, in 2013.
The ring is composed of white diamonds set in 18k white gold and was designed by the jewelry brand Annoushka.
In fact, you could get an identical ring, as it is available for purchase. from the Annushka site .
Described on the website as ‘a royal favorite’, the ring currently sells for £ 1,500.
It’s clear Prince William thinks a lot about the gifts he gives Kate, and his centerpiece is no different.
Kate has often been seen wearing a Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch set with a small sapphire to match her engagement ring.
It was also a gift from William, given to Kate to mark the couple’s third anniversary in 2014.
Not only does the watch compliment Kate’s engagement ring, it also takes on added significance as William’s mother Diana was also a huge fan of Cartier watches and was seen wearing them often.
Diana is also said to have gifted William an engraved Cartier watch for his one-year birthday, so it’s clear that Cartier watches hold special significance to the Duke of Cambridge.
