A DIY blogger has inspired thousands of people on the internet to try making their own clay earrings at home.
Michelle, better known as @lookwhat_i_found on Instagram, shared a video detailing her foray into clay jewelry making that received thousands of interactions with hundreds thanking her for the DIY earring tutorial.
“My eyes lit up the other day when I spotted a variety of clay stamps at Kmart,” she captioned her popular video. ‘I just had to do something!’
She continued, “I had so many ideas when I first saw the stamps, but decided to start with something small – like earrings.”
“I’m definitely no clay expert, but I really enjoyed making these,” she said. “I think my favorites would have to be the rainbow patch and the floral print – now all I have to do is find an outfit to match!”
Michelle said the process of making the earrings was inspiring and innovative, and she was more than happy to share her method with her 56,000 followers.

Michelle first rolled the clay on a desk and used cookie cutters to cut out particular shapes for the earrings.
She then pressed the clay stamps onto the shapes and molded the sides into place.
For the multi-part earrings, she used a yarn needle to poke holes that she could use to secure them with an eye pin.
Once satisfied with the shape, she attached the hook to the eye pins and baked them until the clay became solid.
She then let them cool and then glued the earring posts together with Gorilla Glue.

Hundreds of people praised her for the extremely stylish and trendy end product.
“You are so talented,” wrote one woman. “I like it so much.”
“The earrings are phenomenal,” said another. “I’ve walked past these stamps hundreds of times – wish I’d thought of that sooner.”
A third shared: “I’ve been struggling to feel fashionable lately since I lost my job…but these look so fun and affordable – maybe I can convince my daughter to make them with me.”
Some people were concerned about the weight of the product.
“Very pretty but they look super heavy,” one man commented. ‘Are they straining your ears for carrying too much?’
But Michelle was quick to allay her fears. ‘Not at all!’ she says. “Just make sure you don’t roll the clay so it’s too thick at first.”

Others shared their own handy tips and tricks.
“Just a quick tip, I found that dabbing the shapes first and cutting out the shapes after keeps them from warping like what happens when you do it the other way around,” one woman shared.
“Be careful when they are in the oven,” warned another. “I left mine too long and they got very dry and flaky.”
“I’ve used food coloring to color clay in the past and it worked great,” a third shared.
